Gainesville, FL’s Sports Reference will release their new EP “Somewhere Else” EP tomorrow (January 5, 2018) via Emocat Records, but you can stream the whole thing now on New Noise: http://newnoisemagazine.com/stream-sports-reference-somewhere-else. ‘Somewhere Else’ was recorded at Haunted Muscle Beach Studios in Gainesville with David Bell (Dikembe) producing the record. Jeremy McGuire (drums/vocals) says, “I feel this record is really what the band sounds and feels like. With our first EP we recorded it very early not even knowing if we were going to be a band much longer. With this one, it was much different. We really worked on these songs a lot by road testing them. And because of that and our great producer David, I feel like it really shows off what the band is.” Joey Johnson (guitar/vocals) says, “It’s like Alkaline Trio writing Balance and Composure songs, but badly.
