Review Of Napalm Death’s “Coded Smears and More Uncommon Slurs” – Album Out March 30th!

Napalm Death need no introduction. They have been pummeling listeners for decades and are pioneers to the grindcore genre.  On March 30 they will be releasing their new album titled “Coded Smears and More Uncommon Slurs”.  This is a collection of rarities, splits, sold out vinyl editions and Japanese bonus tracks that cover over 10 years, from 2004 to 2016.

As Shane Embury states “NAPALM DEATH is a band that gives 100% when writing a song”.  Knowing this coming in, you’re sure to get pure Napalm Death.  Barney’s voice has a distinct guttural sound, that he is easily recognizable in the world of metal. Along with veteran musicians Shane Embury’s thundering bass lines, Mitch Harris’s chainsaw riffing and Danny Herrera’s blast beats, Napalm Death leave younger bands in ruins with their brutality, truth and chaotic sound.

This double album release contains 31 tracks that will leave your neck sore from all the headbanging, muscle aches from constant moshing, and body convulsions that you will be unable to control.  Seriously. Napalm Death are veterans for good reason. You can’t help but want to get into the pit to cause some destruction, in a friendly manner of course.

Can your ears bleed from listening to this album too loud? Maybe, but it’ll be worth it!  I, for one, am glad that I’ll be able to catch them live when they go out on tour with Slayer this summer.
