Ironcore Resistance recently released their album For The Fallen on July 27, 2018 on Pavement Entertainment. If you miss the days when metal was simple, straightforward and no soft poppy voices, this is for you. Once I pressed play, I felt transported back to the 1990s; when a band could pick up a guitar, bass, drums and harsh vocals and lay down some tracks.
The bands original inception was in 1968 by founding member Joe Paul Willie who’s life was unfortunately cut short by a tragic automobile accident in 1972. It was years later that David Willie (current frontman) would resurrect the band after learning of his uncles band and motto of creating meaningful music for friends and family to enjoy.
In its current state Ironcore Resistance channel 90’s metal with to the point hooks, rhythms, and heartfelt lyrics. Such as on their ballad type song “Tears of Yesterday”- “Everything is falling away, Just like the tears of yesterday”. Nothing complicated here, which is good considering how sometimes you just want to push play and rock out without having to wonder what the hell you are listening to.
