I will admit that until recently I was not familiar with the music of indietronic band Julien-K. However, after seeing them perform at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights on The Revolution 3 Tour, I’ve definitely become a new fan.
The Revolution 3 Tour is an epic collaboration of legendary bands The Cult, Stone Temple Pilots, and Bush. As openers of this incredible lineup Julien-K absolutely proved that they can hang with the big dogs. These Long Beach, CA-based musicians are an absolutely brilliant and passionate group that expresses their own blend of musicality without being stuck in any one specific genre. They are touring in support of their current album California Noir and single “Photo Voltaire.”
I had a chance to chat with Amir Derakh, Ryan Shuck, Alex Gonzales, and Anthony “Fu” Vacic – collectively known as Julien-K– after their show in Huber Heights. The love and devotion they have for their fans and for their craft was evident and getting to know them made me an even bigger fan. Check out the interview below and make sure you get out to see them on one of their stops on The Revolution 3 Tour or at one of their headlining shows.
Cathy Moore had a chance to speak with the guys of Julien-K about tour life and the origins of the band!
