April 30, 2019 – dkmedia and Charity Bomb are proud to announce the Face The Music Benefit Concert. Featuring a headlining performance from multi-platinum recording artist Garbage with support from The Jam Alker Band, Slow Mass and a very special appearance by Richard Patrick (Filter), the Face The Music Benefit Concert will take place on Monday, May 20th at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL. This special event will be donating 100% of proceeds to the Face The Music Foundation. The Foundation provides immense financial support including patient scholarships for Recovery Unplugged, a Rehabilitation Treatment Center whose mission is to provide hope and healing for individuals affected by addiction using the power of music. Tickets are on-sale now at RivieraTheatre.com.
On the decision to put together this very special concert, David Kinsler of dkmedia shares that “After I had the unique opportunity to tour the Ft. Lauderdale Recovery Unplugged facility and engage with the facilitators and staff in the home office and the treatment center, it was clearly visible that the leadership and medical direction lives and breathes what they preach and stand for. They have a keen sense of treating every client with empathy, compassion and a refreshing, non-judgmental approach. Sound therapy, progressive behavioral modalities and the integration of therapeutic lessons surrounded with music and exercises are what I observed during my visits. It confirmed inside of me that ‘Music truly does, make the difference,’ in helping people transform their lives into sobriety.”
Recovery Unplugged is the first and only addiction care organization in the world that fully uses music in addiction treatment. They combine traditional elements of treatment with innovative, proven and effective techniques that allow clients to work music into addiction recovery allowing them to break down emotional barriers and address the root causes of their substance use disorder in ways traditional talk therapy often can’t. Face The Music Foundation encourages awareness about addiction and recovery through information based outreach, fundraising events, and social media. Executive Director Jeff Jacobs shares that “We believe that by erasing the stigma associated with the third largest cause of accidental death in the United States, it becomes easier for recovery-based resources to be accessible for anyone who needs them.” For more information on Face The Music, please visit www.facethemusic.org.
