NEW JERSEY | MARCH 8, 2017: New Jersey metal band Lorna Shore has been making waves as they continue on tour with Carnifex and Despised Icon, and with the release of their highly-praised, pulverizing sophomore album, Flesh Coffin, which dropped on February 17th with Outerloop Records. In its first week, Flesh Coffin hit the Billboard charts, reaching #2 Current Hard Rock and Top New Artist, #5 Overall Hard Rock, and #67 Top Current Album. Being hailed by Trevor Strnaud’s (The Black Dahlia Murder) for Metal Injection stating, “Lorna Shore easily transcend what is commonly known as deathcore with their blisteringly creative marriage of black and tech metal chops…it’s clinical, quick moving, with impressive instrumental shredding,” and New Noise Magazine, who penned”There’s no doubt that Lorna Shore’s sophomore record will go down as one of the best deathcore albums in recent memory.” Today, for all of Lorna Shore’s drum fans, Austin Archey, in partnership with Sick Drummer Magazine, has released the third in a four-part video series of drum playthroughs from Flesh Coffin, “FVNERAL MOON.”
Formed in 2010, Lorna Shore consists of vocalist Tom Barber, guitarists Adam De Micco and Connor Deffley, and drummer Austin Archey. To date, they have released three EPs and released their debut full-length Psalms in June of 2015. Aside from being featured on the Metal Alliance Tour with Deicide, Lorna Shore has most notably toured alongside bands such as Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, The Black Dahlia Murder, and more. The band has also played festivals such as the New England Metaland Hardcore Festival, Never Say Never Festival, South By So What, Skate and Surf Festival and SXSW’s New England Metal and Hardcore Festival Stage. Lorna Shore’s unique signature aesthetic spans death metal, black metal, power metal, and progressive rock for a style that encompasses brutal breakdowns, dazzling technical passages, white-knuckle-ride dynamics, and rich textured moments. The band’s sophomore album, Flesh Coffin (Outerloop Records), released in February of 2017, was produced by Lorna Shore, Carson Slovak, and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio (August Burns Red, Everclear, From Ashes to New), mixed by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, and mastered by Zakk Cervini (Beartooth, Good Charlotte, Blink 182).
