March 12, 2018, Montreal – Das Mörtal, aka Cristóbal Cortes, the Montreal-based synthwave artist who drew attention for his 2014 score for “Naissance d’un Zombie” and subsequent releases including Hotline Miami II and Always Loved, have debuted a video for “The Curse” via MetalSucks (http://www.metalsucks.net/ The song comes from Das Mörtal’s full-length album, Always Loved. The video was directed by Pablo Escobar Tuduri and is a tongue-in-cheek ode to ‘80s slasher films. Das Mörtal recently announced a North American tour, which kicks off on April 5 in Boston (all dates below, including a recently added Los Angeles performance). “I’m thrilled AF to head to the U.S., bringing a new show and finally meet my amazing fans from the south,” said Cortes. Das Mörtal initially received attention for the 3-track Hotline Miami II, which was followed by the release of Always Loved, as well as a fall 2017 tour with Perturbator.
