On The Road This Spring!

With their groundbreaking EP PATHS still gaining momentum with fans, Cleveland’s THE LIGHTHOUSE AND THE WHALER have released today a brand new single “Into The Unknown.”  Rife with a soaring and epic chorus and a monster hook befitting of a great white, “Into the Unknown” propels the listener into a pastoral and textured expanse that The Waster has hailed as “embodiment of adventurous free expression”.

“We wanted to write a song that captured the spirit of exploration,” says Michael LoPresti about the song. “I’ve traveled around the world quite a bit now and I’ve come to realize that, for me, going to new places and into new cultures has helped me to find who I am. To recognize something inside of me that I think is in all of us on some level, a desire for adventure. We wanted to create a song that reflected that idea and hopefully help to inspire the listeners next expedition.” The video for “Into The Unknown” premieres today on New Noise.  The single is available on iTunesSpotify, and other retail outlets.

In addition, the band are readying their 20 date tour that kicks off in Nashville, TN’s The Basement on May 9th and winds out to the West Coast before returning them to their hometown’s Beachland Ballroom on June 2nd.   Philadelphia’s Vita And The Woolf will support.

With media both large and small including Rolling StoneNPRPaste, bestowing high praise on the four piece, The Lighthouse And The Whaler has been independently building a mini empire all their own. The follow-up to their critically-hailed 2015 album Mont Royal which was produced by Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, The National), PATHS finds the band expanding on their previously roots-based rock to a more fully-realized crisp sound that likened them to the percussive harmonics of Local Natives, the sonic adventurousness of Broken Social Scene with the taut Britpop pogos of Two Door Cinema Club.  Local paper Cleveland Scene  characterized the “terrific new EP, PATHS” as “an homage to the synth-pop of the ’80s.

The Lighthouse And The Whaler is Michael LoPresti, Mark Porostosky Jr. and Ryan Walker.
