Photo’s and Show Review – Adelitas Way’s Notorious Tour with Sons of Texas and Taking Dawn!

Sundays are traditionally a day of rest, but there was no rest for the wicked rock and roll lovers who flocked to the Blue Note in Harrison, Ohio on April 8 to support Adelitas Way on their national headline Notorious tour. It was a night chock full of incredible music from five fantastic bands in a cool and cozy venue in the middle of nowhere.

The party kicked off with two local artists Before the Day and Mick Blankenship. Both bands played an impressive set of their own original songs with a couple of covers thrown in for fun. People were singing along and getting their blood pumping for a long night of musical mayhem.

Taking Dawn of Las Vegas brought their crazy energy and antics to the stage next. This band is so much fun to watch. Lead singer Chris Babbitt puts fellow band mates on his shoulders, plays guitar behind his head, and charges around the venue jumping up on tables and the bar while not missing a beat of his performance. You don’t want to look away for a minute or you are bound to miss something cool and crazy.

Next up Sons of Texas got the crowd dancing along to their heavy brand of bluesy southern rock. This band is a Texas-sized portion of power metal grooves, dazzling guitar solos, sing-along choruses, and soulfully charred vocal melodies. They worked fans into a frenzy and got them ready for the headliners to take the stage.

Adelitas Way burst into their set with their hot and heavy 2015 hit “Bad Reputation.” The sultry sound of vocalist Rick DeJesus and the masterful musicality of bassist Andrew Cushing and drummer Tre Stafford instantly entranced fans. Filling in on guitar for this Notorious tour is Art of Dying’s Tavis Stanley, and he seemed right at home on stage with the guys from Adelitas Way.

The guys rocked the crowd for well over an hour with songs from their massive music library dating back to 2009 and their self-titled debut to their newest album Notorious. They briefly took things down a notch for an acoustic performance of one of my favorite songs “Somebody Wishes They Were You” and one of their newer tunes “Tell Me.”

They picked it back up for heavy hits like “Criticize” and “Sick”. They even played “Cage the Beast”, which is another one of my favorites from their 2011 release Home School Valedictorian and one that I haven’t heard live in way too long. The Las Vegas rockers finished things off with their mega hit “Invincible” and DeJesus reminded the crowd to tell anyone that didn’t make it to the kick ass show “what the fuck they missed.”

Adeltias Way continues to rock the nation on their Notorious tour throughout April and then they will be playing several festivals this summer. Track them on Bandsintown or on social media to follow their schedule. Here are some of their upcoming tour dates:
