SHOW REVIEW: RED SUN RISING Is Out On Their First Headlining Tour And Off To An Incredible Start! – New Album THREAD Out Now!

RED SUN RISING is out on their first headlining tour, and they are off to an incredible start. Nashville was their 8th stop on the tour, but it was quite possibly the most important date on the whole tour. It was the eve of the release of their highly anticipated new album Thread.

Opening the show at the state of the art venue, The Cowan, were two Nashville-local bands – The Dead Deads and HER. Both bands were kick ass, female-fronted bands that got the crowd pumped and primed for the main event.

RED SUN RISING thundered onto the stage with “Push” – one of my favorite songs from their album Polyester Zeal. The song is high energy and the perfect choice to get things off to an explosive start.

The Akron, OH rockers rocked the crowd for just over an hour with a perfect mix of new songs and old favorites. Fans heard unreleased tracks from the new album – “Veins” and “Lonely Girl” – as well as two of the singles from Thread that have been released and are tearing up rock radio – “Deathwish” and “Fascination.”

The night also included hot performances of some of RED SUN RISING’s biggest hits including “The Otherside” and “Amnesia” as well as their electrifying cover of Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited.” They closed the show with their mega hit “Emotionless”.

The energy these guys bring to their live shows is incomparable. They don’t slow down for a single minute of the set. They engage with the crowd and have a larger than life presence when they are performing. It’s just such a fun and fantastic show every time RED SUN RISING gets on stage.

I drove five long hours through pouring rain and heavy traffic to get to Nashville, TN to see one of my favorite bands, RED SUN RISING, and wow could they hold their own as a headliner. The show was well worth every mile and every minute.

RED SUN RISING has several more headline dates in support of Thread. The band will also be performing at most of the major rock festivals this year. Make it a point to get to one of their shows. You won’t regret it.
