To break it down in its simplest terms, Darden is four sisters, four-part vocal harmonies, ten musical instruments (and growing) and four prolific songwriters.

Consisting of Selah (21), Clarah (19), Havilah (18), and Tabithah (16), Darden’s vocal style is reminiscent of The Eagles with the crossover potential of bands like Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, and The Zach Brown Band,

Darden are carving their own lane through the current musical landscape. Their musical statement, built on a foundation of great songs, a wholesome image, and musical talent well beyond their years, is a refreshing antidote to today’s music scene. They are developing into prolific songwriters with sensitive and thought-provoking lyrics and strong melodies that float through effortless harmonies.

As four of six children, the girls began singing at an early age, traveling in an RV across America with their parents – singing at churches, community centers, nursing facilities, women’s shelters, and special events for veterans. With each new birth came an addition to the Darden Family Singers and a new little passenger in the RV. The girls loved living on the road. They took delight in their ability to meet new people, share their music and faith with others. The small space in the RV was where they slept, ate, played, and were schooled. It became known as “home.” They wouldn’t want it any other way, because together they saw America, shared their talents, laughed, fought, dreamt, wrote, sang and made music. Their place called “home” encompasses all that they have collectively known and value in this world as a family.

Soon, the girls began seeking out their own opportunities to develop their talents as singers, songwriters, and musicians. Selah plays the violin, piano, and ukulele. Clarah plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, ukulele, and banjo. Havilah plays guitar, mandolin, and ukulele. Tabithah, the youngest, plays the upright bass, acoustic bass, electric bass, mandolin, and ukulele. Most recently they have shaped their vocal style to reflect their influences – a hybrid of Folk, Americana, Pop, Country, and Bluegrass, creating a distinctive original sound dubbed Alternative Americana.
