BIO:
Formed in Nashville but carving a space in the field of bright, synth-spiked indie pop more often associated with L.A. and N.Y.C., COIN was started by students at Belmont University in 2012. They sold out a show for the first time in the summer of 2013, and the quartet of Chase Lawrence (vocals/synths), Joe Memmel (guitar/vocals), Zachary Dyke (bass), and Ryan Winnen (drums) signed with Columbia that fall. Working with producer and co-writer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Cage the Elephant), they released their self-titled debut in 2015. Behind the single “Run,” it landed on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. The band came back a year later with the kissing anthem “Talk Too Much.” It was the first single from their second album, How Will You Know If You Never Try, which was released in the spring of 2017.

BIO:
STRFKR is an indie pop/indie electro band formed by Sexton Blake’s Josh Hodges. After the songwriter returned to Portland, Oregon following a four-year stint in New York City, he released two Sexton Blake records on Expunged, including Plays the Hits, a breezy but glum lo-fi album of ’80s covers. Looking to convert his musical endeavors into a more lighthearted project, Hodges recruited Mr. Fredrick’s Shawn Glassford and formed a new group with Junkface’s Ryan Bjornstad. With notable live performances that featured some instrument swapping, dual drumming, and stage diving, as well as some outlandish costumes, Dylan Magierek’s attention was drawn to their set and he signed the band to Badman Recording Company. Hodges and Magierek took some of their home recordings to the Type Foundry to round out their eponymous debut record with some intricate layering, and in September 2008, the album was released to the public and hailed by critics for its abundance of dance-friendly hooks. Multi-instrumentalist Keil Corcoran joined on in 2009.
The band continued to grow in popularity, and again grappled with a name change. They opted for the shortened STRFKR in 2012, and between tours completed work on their third album, Miracle Mile, which was released in early 2013.
Slimmed down to the lineup of Hodges, Glassford, and Corcoran, STRFKR returned with Being No One, Going Nowhere in November 2015 on limited-edition “early bird” vinyl, with a full release following in the fall of 2016. It landed on several Billboard charts, including vinyl, rock, alternative, independent, and the Heatseekers Albums chart, where it hit number one. Early the next year, Polyvinyl began releasing a three-volume series of demos rescued from Hodges’ dying laptop, with Vault, Vol. 1 arriving in February 2017. Vault, Vol. 2 followed in July, and Vault, Vol. 3 would close out the 64-track set.

Sometimes when band members reunite, it’s as if no time has passed and nothing has changed. That couldn’t be further from the truth for 10 Years. And, that’s a good thing. When guitarist/drummer Brian Vodinh and guitarist Matt Wantland returned to the Knoxville, Tennessee alt-metal/post-grunge band for their eighth album and Mascot Records debut, (how to live) AS GHOSTS, they burst through their comfort zones to create something new. Something better. Something career-defining. While Vodinh handled drums and guitar on the new album, he’s switching to just guitar for the live shows, moving Chad Huff from guitar to bass, while Kyle Mayer stays on drums. The sixth collaborator was Grammy award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters, Deftones). “Nick made us step outside our comfort zone,” explains Hasek. “It made for a different sounding record. The one thing we never wanted to do is recreate the same thing over and over. We have always been musicians that love to explore and venture into new horizons.”
The result is 10 Years’ most dynamic and multi-dimensional record to date. Raskulinecz encouraged the band to strip away some of the vocal production they’ve grown accustomed to in order to reveal a more intimate side of Hasek. 10 Years has come a long way since their inception in 1999. The band landed a deal with Universal/Republic Records on the strength of their two independent releases, 2001’s Into the Half Moon and 2004’s Killing All That Holds You. Their major label debut, 2005’s The Autumn Effect, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album chart thanks to their breakthrough hit, “Wasteland,” which topped Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart, and “Through the Iris,” which hit No. 20 on BillboardHot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The group, which toured the world with such rock greats at Linkin Park, Korn, and Deftones, went back to their indie roots with 2012’s Minus the Machine on their own Palehorse Records, which was part of Warner Music Label Group. The album debuted at No. 2 on

Jason Yarger (lead vocalist and guitarist), Jake Goldstein and Jake Munk (guitarists), Greg Horne (bassist), Kevin Gerimmett (keyboardist), and Joey Anderson (drummer) make up the California-based band known as HUNNY. Citing bands like The Cure as post-punk influence, Yarger centers HUNNY’s genre as “sadwave,” their lyrics revolving around the group’s life growing up and experiences with girls.
Goldstein and Munk had been creating music since their middle school years, and Yarger and Horne had formed a group in high school. As the members grew up together in Newbury Park, they played music with different bands. Eventually, several of them started living in a house in the valley and decided to evolve their group and become HUNNY.
“Cry for Me” was their debut single, which is the embodiment of their upbeat personality, complete with a beat that you can’t get out of your head.
The band accompanied long-time friends The Neighbourhood and Bad Suns on a tour across the United States entitled #THEFLOOD2015 in anticipation of The Neighbourhood’s sophomore effort during the fall of 2015. Pain/Ache/Loving was released on October 9th, 2015 as HUNNY’s debut extended play, featuring a brand new single entitled “Natalie.”

BIO:
There’s a story George Sheppard likes to tell about the night his life changed. It was April, 2014. Sheppard the band had travelled to the United States for MUSEXPO, the music, media and technology conference. But George and Sheppard guitarist Jay Bovino were more concerned with sitting in their shared Los Angeles hotel room, checking the single charts back home in Australia. The band’s giddy new release ‘Geronimo’ had already been out a month, but was choosing this particular night to begin its assault on the ARIA charts in earnest. Sitting in the hotel room, the bandmates kept refreshing iTunes every couple of minutes. And each time, the song climbed higher and higher. And higher. It reached number 12.
Sheppard had created a phenomenon that quickly went international, the song’s call to follow your dreams packing a universal appeal. ‘Geronimo’ went six-times platinum in Australia and raced to the top of the charts throughout Europe. It became a sleeper hit in the United States, eventually peaking at number 53 on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieving platinum status (1,000,000 sales). A debut album Bombs Away would go gold in Australia, the band would win an ARIA for ‘Best Group’ and complete what seemed like endless rounds of touring, including knock-out performances at Rock in Rio 2015, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. There were sold-out headline shows in New York and Los Angeles, performances for both the Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
