Tropidelic Announce January Dates with Flobots
New Album “Heavy Is The Head” Debuts at #1 on iTunes Reggae Chart
Cleveland, OH’s Tropidelic have announced a run of January tour dates with Flobots. See dates below.
The band’s heavy tour schedule, intoxicating live shows and signature mix of reggae, hip-hop and high energy funk, has clearly helped them connect with an ever-growing fanbase, as evidenced by the release of their latest album, ‘Heavy Is The Head’ (their first for Pepper’s LAW Records), which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Reggae chart last week.
“Our socio-political views vary as much as our musical tastes and always seep into the music,” says frontman Matthew Roads. “There’s certainly a lot that needs to be said, but on this record, we tried to be well-rounded and touch on a broad scope of emotions.”
Tropidelic has a deep and widespread appreciation for music that can be heard in each note. Some of the members are hip-hop heads, while others are into metal, funk or reggae. But each of these genres lends something to their collective sound. “We pride ourselves on being original in our musicality and personality as a band,” says Roads, “but also in not taking ourselves so seriously that it ruins the fun.”
Having played and toured with acts such as Slightly Stoopid, 311, Pepper, Sugar Ray, Dirty Heads, The Wailers, Passafire, Ballyhoo!, and many more, these seasoned road dogs plan to stay on tour in support of the new record, focusing on headlining shows and festival dates. In addition to the Flobots dates, the band will be out supporting Badfish in February (see dates below), with additional gigs to be announced soon.
