I Prevail Killed It In Columbus, OH Despite Missing Their Lead Singer! Show Review And Photos From Express Live 11/29/17

I Prevail is currently on a tour dubbed “Rage On The Stage Tour” with a killer line-up of bands, Escape The Fate, The Word Alive, and We Came As Romans. I attended the Columbus, Ohio stop on the tour which was actually moved to a larger venue with ticket sales nearing a sell-out!

Escape The Fate opened up the show and right away got this packed house of fans going nuts! Escape The Fate really put on a great show and got things fired up performing some of their hits like One For The Money and Four Letter Word.

Next up was Arizona’s The Word Alive to take the stage. Lead singer Tyler “Telle” Smith of The Word Alive was escorted out to a chair with a cast on his leg after breaking his leg while performing in LA. Being in a chair did not stop the power and energy Tyler and the band put forth during their performance! This was my first time seeing The Word Alive and I was really impressed!

Third up on the night was We Came As Romans. I’ve never seen We Came As Romans so I was really excited to check them out! They were SO GOOD! Based out of Troy Michigan We Came As Romans had an extraordinary sound and energy! The guys in the band never stopped moving, and having two vocalists switching off and on was awesome! We Came As Romans will be visiting Columbus, Ohio again in May 2018 on the recently announced line-up for Rock On The Range!

Finally the main act was up, I Prevail! A curtain was placed up on the stage blocking everyone’s view from what was going on behind the scenes and as soon as that curtain dropped I Prevail appeared! The crowd went NUTS!! As the first song was playing and I was snapping photos I suddenly noticed something different about the band, they were missing lead singer Brian Burkheiser! Burkheiser we were told had damaged his vocal chords and was not finishing the tour. Although Burkheiser was certainly missed, the band did not miss a beat and guitarist Dylan Bowman did an amazing job of filling in on the clean vocals! The other lead singer (harsh vocals) Eric Vanlerberghe was so powerful and completely owned the stage this night! By the third song things were really raging on the stage! Confetti cannons went off covering Express Live and the fans in attendance with more confetti than I’ve ever seen at this venue! It was such an exciting night, the fans all were really enjoying themselves and I was loving this performance of I Prevail! I Prevail is a MUST SEE live!
