Columbus Ohio’s BLACK COFFEE looks to build a solid team as they get set to release debut album

With the release of the bands debut album, Take One (coming in late February 2018) Columbus Ohio rockers Black Coffee are concentrating on three things… rehearsing, booking shows, and assembling a solid team around the band. Guitarist Justin Young said, “With the current state of the music industry, bands need a lot more than just a great album to get anywhere. We feel we have a great album, so now we need a great team to help us push it.”  Black Coffee has the sound, the look, and the work ethic that a band needs to succeed.  Now, they just need a team to help them do it.

One piece to the team Justin talks about, is already in place.  Local photographer/videographer John Payne of Payne Productions (and 99.7 The Blitz WRKZ) joined the team at the end of 2017 to as the bands media coordinator and advisor. Because of John’s past experience managing and promoting bands such as Bobaflex, Devil By Design, and Energy, the band knew they were getting a lot more than just a media guy on their team. Drummer Tommy McCullough said, “We have a lot of respect for John because of his past experience working in the industry, so it was a no brainer when he offered to join the Black Coffee team.  We think he is an amazing artist who has a lot of experience working with new bands, so we feel very fortunate to have him on board.”  John is also serving as temporary management for the band.

When asked what it is about Black Coffee that made him want to jump on board, John had a lot to say about the young rockers.  “When a band lights a fire inside you that you haven’t felt in over 5 years, you tend to take notice. We have three musicians that I think were put on this earth to be in a band together.  The fact that they found each other, seems like destiny in the works to me.”  Judging from the buzz that is already surrounding the band, John may be right with his assessment. “We’ve got a mix of ACDC, Guns N Roses, and Van Halen here…. I mean, who doesn’t want to be a part of that?  The response I am getting so far has been really great!  I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for these guys.”   Long story short, the band really impressed John with their talent, willingness to do whatever it takes, and most importantly, their music.

Black Coffee front man and bassist Ehab Omran said, “I’ve never felt this confident about any of my past projects, but I also know that we need more than talent and confidence to make it in today’s industry.  I just hope that the right people understand what we are doing and want to be a part of it as much as John does.”

Black Coffee is currently looking for permanent management and a booking agency to add to the team.

The band kicked off 2018 with the release their debut single “I Barely Know Her” which is available across all digital platforms.
