AVATAR kicked off their 2018 tour and brought Avatar Country to Express Live in Columbus, Ohio! What an amazing show!! Photos and review here!

Avatar kicked off their North American 2018 tour in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday 1/6/18 and it was incredible!! I’ve seen Avatar numerous times and each time they bring such a fun atmosphere with their performance and their stage setup.

The bands kicked things off with “The King” (Jonas Jarlsby) perched above and behind drummer John Alfredsson.  The King had his kingly garb on sitting in his throne with his guitar shredding the intro music for the night which was a live debut of “Glory To Our King”!  Soon emerged lead singer Johannes Eckerström from the side of the stage adorned in his circus garb.  The band quickly kicked things off with another live debut of their latest “Legend Of The King”.

This non stop music freak show was just awesome!  Guitarist Jonas Jarlsby then worked his way down to the stage and continued to provide thrills on the guitar while Johannes and the rest of the band showed everyone how real headbanging looked on stage.  The set list continued with “Let It Burn” and then “Paint Me Red” two of my favorite Avatar songs.  The performance overall was just so powerful and yet fun at the same time!  The band played 17 songs on the night and debuted 6 new songs off their upcoming album “Avatar Country”.  The band also played “War Song” which was the first time live since 2008!
