PETER MURPHY Postpones SF Residency

PETER MURPHY Postpones SF Residency Citing Visa Complications

San Francisco, CA – Due to unfortunate circumstances surrounding the acquisition of his visa paperwork, Peter Murphy had to postpone his much-anticipated three-week residency at The Chapel in San Francisco which was scheduled to begin January 23, 2018.  They shows have been rescheduled beginning June 26 and running till July 15, 2018. (dates below)

“I am very aware of everyone’s disappointment, particularly but not least those who were flying in from far away,” said Peter Murphy about the unfortunately postponement, “I want to apologize to any readers or fans who are put out as a result of the shifting change in plans. There is no one at fault at all; rather a simple matter of the administrative visa process for many foreign applications between Turkey and USA.  The management of The Chapel have been the champions in this last couple of weeks. We have however, now wisely postponed the whole event until June and July at my instruction to do so.”

“Peter has always been very proactive in obtaining his visas to travel to the States and this time no was exception,” explains Fiona McEntee, Managing Attorney for McEntee Law Group and MusicVisas.com. “Peter and his immigration attorneys began working on his case many months ago. Given the importance of these gigs to Peter, he paid a substantial fee to have the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service expedite the adjudication of his O-1 visa. His case was approved in November and following what is generally a routine visa interview, Peter was told that his case was being subjected to a random administrative processing check.  Despite our best efforts that have included repeated inquiries and congressional intervention, Peter’s case is still stuck in this delayed processing.”

About Peter Murphy
First emerging from the British punk and rock underground in the late 70s, Murphy (along with bandmates Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins) founded the groundbreaking iconic rock band Bauhaus which spawned four iconoclastic and ultra-seminal albums as well as keystone singles “She’s In Parties”, “Silent Hedges”, and, of course, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” before disbanding in 1983. Murphy launched a successful solo career that has yielded ten solo albums so far, including his latest LION, released in 2014. Murphy also released the live album Bare-Boned and Sacred on March 2017 through Metropolis Records, which was recorded in New York City on his Strippped tour.About The Chapel
The Chapel is a live music venue, restaurant, and neighborhood bar located in the heart of the Mission District. The Chapel occupies an historic 1914 building that was originally built as a mortuary and has now been stunningly renovated. The beautiful chapel with its 40-foot high arched ceiling has been converted to a music room with mezzanine, while the rest of the building has been remodeled to hold a restaurant, neighborhood bar, and an outdoor dining patio.
