FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 21, 2018
Trinidad native urban pop/hip-hop artist TRISHES presents a multitude of visual and thematic elements on her forthcoming debut EP, “EGO”, due out in early 2019. The project is a collection of media based on the Freudian definition of “ego” (the conscious self) and centers on 5 constructs humanity has developed as an attempt to separate ourselves from our primal instincts. These include government, self awareness, creativity, language and possession. Each concept is explored through music, video, spoken word and a small art collection.
TRISHES is pleased to share the visually captivating and aurally stunning music video for the EP’s debut single, “Hydra”, directed by Tamara Arroba and clothing styled by Alex Benaim (More Rockin)

“I wrote Hydra as a response to rising white nationalism in the U.S., particularly after the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville last year.”, states TRISHES, “When Heather Heyer was murdered during a counter protest, I remember watching her mother speak at her memorial and feeling a sense of hope. I knew that her death wasn’t in vain because next time even more people would show up in her place because of her. It reminded me of the Greek myth of the hydra – a creature who would grow two heads whenever one got cut off.“
“Hydra” is available now across all digital platforms, download & listen here:
