THE FAIM WERE FLAWLESS IN COLUMBUS, OHIO AND EARNED A TON OF NEW FANS
Words and Photos by Shawn Wiseman
When The Faim jumped out on stage, the rumble of the crowd stopped and turned into applause and cheering. The packed Skully’s Diner in Columbus, OH was ready to see this awesome Aussie group perform! The Faim are on their very first U.S. tour and hail from Perth, Australia. The band is supporting headliners, Hands Like Houses, but their performance proved they were worthy of being a headliner themselves. This is a band that you will see more and more of for sure! Josh Raven (lead singer) owned the stage during the entire six song set and has an air of confidence that you don’t often see with a lot of younger bands. The Faim packed a lot of great music during their set and still had fans wanting more!
The Faim opened up their set with “My Heart Needs To Breathe”, and immediately the crowd witnesses the talent of these four Australians. The band then starts working the crowd with their next song “Midland Line” which is a meaningful pop anthem and had everyone bouncing in the crowd. The song “Saints and Sinners” was up next, and the music was sounding fantastic! The Faim are so much fun to watch on stage. They engage each other as well as the crowd during each song. The next song in the set was “Make Believe” which is an intense guitar driven song, that also has a great beat. The energy of The Faim on stage is infectious. The fans may or may not have been there to see the headliner but these guys were winning the crowd over song after song. The final song of the night was “Summer is a Curse” which by far was my favorite song of the set.
The Faim won me over and the many fans packed into Skully’s Diner. I had a chance to speak with a few members of the band afterwards and their enthusiasm and excitement about being on tour was purely infectious. They all were so nice and I am hoping they find great success in the future.
