Punk band Le Butcherettes made a stop recently to Louisville, KY to a packed venue. The band, who is set to release their next album in February of 2019 is known for their dynamic live performances, having gathered a passionate fanbase over the years. Singer Teri Gender Bender, clad in black fishnet stockings, a black leotard with colorful accents on the front in red, black and white, a feathered headpiece and a red band of face paint across her eyes and temple, is an incredibly energetic front woman. Making great use of the stage, she switched often from playing the keys to playing guitar, staying active for the entire set. The bassist and guitarist/keyboardist interacted often with each other, as well as with Teri and the drummer, and gave plenty of attention to the crowd too. Singing and speaking often in Spanish, it was apparent that Teri, as well as the other band members, feel incredibly connected to their Mexican culture. They were having a great time on stage, with Teri thanking the crowd for coming out to the show! Although they sang a fairly short set list, the band packed a lot of fun and energy into the time they did play and gave the crowd a great evening of music! Local scream pop duo Grlwood opened the show.
