Ny grunge/post-punk band Castle Black, currently touring with Detroit garage rock band Bear Bones, performed recently in Louisville, KY.  Castle Black, who is touring in support of their latest EP ‘the gods that adored you’, always give a gritty, intense and high-energy performance.  With a small, cozy and intimate atmosphere, The Butchertown Social provided the perfect stage for the evening, which also included local bands Shark Sandwich and The Kids Born Wrong.  With a modest crowd of concert-goers for a rainy Thursday evening, Louisville punk duo Shark Sandwich started out the evening, followed by Bear Bones.  Having also toured last year with Castle Black, Bear Bones delivered a fast-paced and energetic performance that kept the crowd engaged throughout their set!  Castle Black was up next, with guitarist/singer Leigh Celent’s commanding vocals and catchy, grunge/punk-fueled guitar chords eliciting plenty of cheers from the crowd.  Drummer Joey Russo, who also drums for Bear Bones, gave impressive back-to-back performances, giving 110% throughout both sets! Performing older songs, as well as a few from their latest EP, Castle Black gave an amazing performance and no doubt made some new fans this evening.  Closing out the evening was Louisville punk band The Kids Born Wrong.
