GYGAX: Fantasy Metal Warriors Announce West Coast Tour With Pounder; Third LP Under Construction
Ventura, California fantasy metal warriors GYGAX – currently uniting former and current members of Gypsyhawk, Skeletonwitch, Annihilation Time, Huntress, Sorcerer, and more – have announced a run of West Coast tour dates for this May with fellow Californians, the ale assassins in Pounder. The news comes as the band is currently recording their upcoming third LP for release later in the year.
GYGAX stormed through 2018 with their triumphant second album, Second Edition. Drenched in influence from the likes of Dungeons & Dragons and Thin Lizzy, the album showcases the band’s top-notch musicianship through a fiery onslaught of unavoidably infectious grooves and pristine hooks. Having toured out several times on the West Coast, GYGAX hit the East Coast over the winter with labelmates Light This City supporting the album.
The new tour sees GYGAX and Pounder hitting the West Coast from May 9th through May 18th, with shows booked in Portland, Seattle, Grant’s Pass, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, and Los Angeles. As GYGAX is working on their fourth album, fans in the tour zone can expect to get the first dose of new material from the impending LP.
See all confirmed GYGAX tour dates below and watch for further announcements on the LP and the tour to be issued in the weeks ahead.
Second Edition is out now on digipak CD, LP, and digital formats via Creator-Destructor; find physical merch options at the label webshop HERE and digital orders at Bandcamp HERE.
