NY post-punk/alternative rock band Castle Black recently made a stop in Louisville, KY on their Dead In A Dream tour.  Having released their latest EP Dead In A Dream on July 12th, the band has made Louisville a regular stop on their tours.  Performing this evening in a small and intimate venue with a fun, funky vibe, the band seemed right at home amongst the modest crowd that had gathered to watch them perform.  Singer/guitarist Leigh Celent is a powerhouse on stage, her aggressive vocals and serious guitar chops a joy to watch as she and her band mates delivered each song to a receptive crowd.  Playing plenty of songs from the new EP, they also performed some older songs, as well, making for a well-rounded setlist.  Drummer Joey Russo is a blur of energy behind the drums, with his drum kit sat in front of streamers that spanned the length of the wall, which added to the fun.  Bassist Scott Brown shredded on bass to round out the trio, making for a fantastic performance that no doubt gained them some new fans this evening.  Local punk band Push Start opened the show, with local heavy rock band Bad Wires, a band that could best be described as a power trio, closing out the show.  With a healthy mix of prog rock and noise rock, bassist/vocalist Cory Cotrell, drummer/vocalist Damien Cooke and guitarist Connor Johnson ended the night on a high note.
