October 31, 2019 – Houston, TX – Just in time for Halloween, Swimwear Department has shared a brand new single and music video for “At The Pool“. Fans can watch the music video here: http://bit.ly/2q3ReYw.
The video was produced in collaboration with Filmatic, a group of Houston-based creatives led by Orlando Briones and Jon Conner.
The single was intentionally recorded at the same tempo as the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive,” as the party anthem’s central character is doing just that. “At the Pool” will be available on all streaming platforms November 1.
Swimwear Department is serious about having fun. The Houston, Texas rock band plays tunes about only two topics: Swimming pools and shopping malls. Frontman, Matt Graham, rouses crowds to take part in improvised line-dances and sing-alongs. The band is Graham plus Ned Gayle (bass), Jeremy Grisbee (keys) and Jack Gordon (drums). Together, the quartet exudes party power reminiscent of The Presidents of the United States of America and The B-52s. Divide & Conquer called the quartet “refreshingly frivolous and fun proof that you can take subject matter that on the surface level may seem a bit silly and provide emotionally satisfying and even profound experiences.“
Last year, they released their debut album Turn Over! Go Under!, featuring singles such as “Cool Mall Stroll” and “The Limited, The Gap” – a reflective homage to the changing tides of the mall directory and life itself.
