Summerland Tour 2021-Live Concerts RETURN to Cincinnati, OH in a BIG WAY with Wheatus, Living Colour, Hoobastank, and Everclear

After 18 months or more without live music, the day came for me to finally get to go out to see a show! Summerland 2021 arrived in Cincinnati, Ohio on a very hot and humid July afternoon. When I arrived, I saw a line of eager concertgoers waiting to enter the venue with smiles on their faces. The excitement was palpable, everyone was in good spirits and enjoying being in public again.
Once the doors opened it did not take long for the seven members of Wheatus to take the stage. The first sound of a live guitar gave me chills, everyone took notice and you could feel the excitement of the crowd. Wheatus shredded through their set and ended just how the crowd expected, “Let’s play the dirtbag song!”. The crowd cheered and Wheatus finished their great!

The crowd still amped up from Wheatus then saw Living Colour take the stage. Living Colour took the stage with so many smiles on the band’s faces! They quickly started the tunes sounding PERFECT! Living Colour fills the stage and crowd with so much energy. Lead singer Corey Glover bounced around the stage, his orange dreadlocks bouncing around while he belted out the vocals to each song. Guitarist Vernon Reid, Glover, and bassist Doug Wimbish, all smiling and having a great time through each song. Living Color finished their set with “Cult of Personality”, the crowd singing along with Glover, the feeling of being at a live show after such a long break really hit me. This is AMAZING!

Hoobastank took over after Living Colour and quickly got to work on all their classics. Hoobastank ripped through their set including many great songs and finishing their set with “Crawling in the Dark” which the fans loved!

Finally, the moment many were waiting for, EVERCLEAR! Everclear took the stage to the cheers of the audience. The temperatures in the venue were out of control, everyone was covered in sweat but still eager to see the band. Art Alexakis and the band played flawlessly. Playing so many hits that had the crowd singing along. The band finished up with “Santa Monica” and “Molly’s Lips” (Vaselines Cover).

I looked around and saw so many smiles, so many people I had not seen in 18 months and was just overwhelmed by the entire event. Live music is back and hopefully here to stay!
