On April 20, 2018 Dallas, Texas band Messer will be releasing their self-titled debut. A mix of modern rock with honest lyrics round out this 11 song album. Messer is comprised of members: Dereak Messer (lead vocals), Donnie Deville (guitar, vocals), Javier Contreras (guitar, vocals), Kenn Youngar (drums, vocals), Maddox Messer (bass, vocals).
Messer’s single, Make This Life, has recently given the band traction by placing in the top 40 for Active Rock Radio. Make This Life has the down chugging guitar riffs and a sing along melodic chorus which helps make the song very memorable and easy to sing along to. Lyrically, the song is about taking advantage of the life you have and making the most of it (at least my interpretation). .
Simple Man is another door kicker of a song! Fast hooks, pummeling drums and a solid song structure makes sure it becomes an instant earworm..
What Messer have accomplished on this album is pretty remarkable. At no time did I feel there were any filler songs. Each song is well thought out in its delivery and performance. I can easily put this on random play and know that I will enjoy each track. You won’t be disappointed in this purchase.
Messer just wrapped up a tour with Red, Lacey Sturm, and Righteous Vendetta.
Starting on April 18, Messer will hit the road with Shallow Side
