Every so often, we all need the right album for our ears. You know the one: it hides between the two albums you’ve been switching back and forth to over the past month, and you’re itching for something to give you that certain feeling.
Towards the end of this past August, the mates in Minority 905 gave the world that album: Dangerous Ambitions.
The album immediately opens with a pop-punk anthem titled, “Don’t Panic.” And it flows beautifully into a medley of alternative, pop-rock, with a little dash of emo in there just to get that kick of angst throughout the record.
Each song throughout the album delivers various emotions that any listener could find a relation to. Tracks such as “What If” and “Future” kick in that rush in your veins as you’re frightened for the future, yet you’re on the edge of your seat, ready to take the next leap. Flip over to “Relapse” and you’re reminiscing over your summer love and suddenly, you’re 17 again.
Much like the title of the eighth track, the album as a whole is almost like a ‘soundtrack.’ One after another, each song flows right into one another without repeating the same sound or structure. Minority 905 even goes as far as to give us an emotional, acoustic love song, “Lucky Ones” through all the mosh pit-worthy tracks.
Roughly halfway through the album, the Ontario lads claim to not be “Picture Perfect” but if one thing is for certain: they are without a doubt, listening perfectly. As much as one may try to resist, your finger cannot help but press ‘replay’ over and over on this record!
