OCTOBER 10, 2018
In excitement of their new album, “Battlefields of Asura”, dropping this Friday, October 12, Taiwanese heavy metallists’ CHTHONIC have revealed a new live music video for their second single, “A Crimson Sky’s Command”.
The music video features footage from CHTHONIC‘s set at one of Taiwan’s largest music festivals, Megaport Music Festival, earlier this year, where it was first debuted. With an immediately resonating symphonic melody, fans were quick to engage and one fan even created a cover of the single after seeing it performed live at the festival!
With many tracks in CHTHONIC‘s “Battlefields of Asura” being associated with different Taiwanese gods and goddesses, “A Crimson Sky’s Command” was inspired by the god of war “Te-ia-kong”, or “Xuantian Shangdi” in Mandarin. The lyrics naturally takes on warpath and aggressiveness, however, frontman Freddy Lim states that “on top of the imagery at the face value, it also represents the courage we need to face, confront and overcome our own weakness“.
