Coverage of Portland Folk Band “Joseph” in Louisville, KY

Portland folk band Joseph made a stop in Louisville, KY on their most recent tour, performing to a packed venue. A popular mainstay on Louisville Public Media, their music plays often on 91.9 WFPK, which has allowed the trio of sisters to grow and maintain a loyal Louisville fan base. Coming out onto the stage to a roar of applause, the sisters had the crowd singing and dancing from the first note. Starting the set off with “In My Head”, they performed a nice selection of songs that included “Side Effects”, “Half Truths”, “”Fantasy”, “Revolving Door”, Without You” and “Fighter”. Meegan, Allison and Natalie Closner sing amazing and beautiful harmonies, with Natalie also playing the guitar. They were in high spirits this evening, interacting throughout the evening with each other and the audience. Although Mercury Ballroom typically has a barricade, this evening the sisters had requested to have no barricade to provide a closer and more intimate experience between them and the audience. They also brought Jessica Dobson from the opening band Deep Sea Diver to the stage to sing a couple of songs with them, which was a treat to watch. Deep Sea Diver rocked the crowd before Joseph hit the stage. Dobson is a fun and dynamic front woman and it was fun to see her performing some songs with Joseph. It was apparent that they were having a great time together on tour! It was an incredibly fun night of music, with a wonderful energy filling the venue throughout the evening!
