This past Saturday I checked out a Lying In Ruins playing at one of my favorite venue’s in the Cincinnati area, The Thompson House in Newport Kentucky.. Their bio from Facebook describes them as this:
“L.I.R. Fronted by lead vocalist Amy Newhart, Amy brings a side of fire and passion into her heart felt rage of emotional and aggressive lyrics. The range delivered from her phenomenal vocals is astounding and sure to give you Goosebumps! The power and clarity from the captivating lyrics makes them a force to be reckoned with. Take a minute to appreciate the riff makers of the band guitarist Jason Roy and lead guitarist Adam Scholle. They are able to find the perfect guitar riffs and lead solo’s to complement the perfect groove. It’s like they are a well built machine and the rough ideas are then oiled by adding complimentary bass grooves by bassist Kevin Morris and then matched to the piston and gasoline which is the man who fuels them and keeps everyone in the pocket the one and only Tim Purdin on drums so the machine stays in line and running on time. Together they form a solid groove oriented rock band known as Lying In Ruins.”
The band puts on one hell of a show and brings not only great sound but also a great stage performance! The will be opening for Bobaflex at The Thompson House on January 28th… make sure to check them out! Tickets for the show can be purchased online here.
