Bunbury Music Festival – Death Cab for Cutie Review

Death Cab for Cutie – Bunbury Music Festival 2017

written by Katie Morton

Friday night festivities came to a close at the Sawyer Point Stage, as Death Cab for Cutie took the stage. DCFC is an American alt rock band from Bellingham, Washington formed in 1997. Current band members include Ben Gibbard (vocals, guitar, piano), Nick Harmer (bass), Dave Depper (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Zac Rae (keyboards, guitar), and Jason McGerr (drums).

The band’s intro played under the dusky sky while revelers frolicked with a giant parachute on the expansive grassy lawn along the banks of the Ohio river. Straight out of the gates, DCFC treated fans with crowd favorite “I Will Possess Your Heart”.  The set continued with “The New Year” and “Crooked Teeth” enjoyed by a mix of festival goers of all ages. Surprisingly, not included in the set, was 2016’s election protest song, “Million Dollar Loan.” If you want to catch Death Cab for Cutie, you better act fast. There are only a handful of dates left on their 2017 tour schedule, and many are already sold out. You can get all the details here: http://deathcabforcutie.com/tour/
